As many of you know October is National Breast Cancer Awareness Month, some of you guys may have noticed the pink accessories worn by so many in the NFL for the past two weeks. Anyway, I thought that I should recognize a few people close to me who should be so proud of themselves for their support of this cause. First, since this is PEI's blog, props go out to Alyssa Ometz a (co-worker here at PEI) who has steadily been raising money ($1071.00 currently) and recruiting others to walk with her in the "Making Strides Against Breast Cancer" walk scheduled for October, 24th here in Atlanta. http://makingstrides.acsevents.org This will be her third year walking and second year of decorating our office pink. Alyssa walks for her Nanny who is a breast cancer survivor.
Also, my wife Mikala completed her first Atlanta 2 day walk (30 miles) for breast cancer on October, 3rd. http://www.itsthejourney.org/. She raised over $2,000.00, with the help of PEI, to support local Atlanta breast cancer organizations. This had always been a huge goal of hers, and I am so proud that she achieved it.
I am sure that next year PEI will be sponsoring a team to walk so stay tuned for details...
